Full Time Care

Me. Having been off work with yet another recurrence of my back problems, I finally heard from the Big Boss just the other day. They’ve decided that they don’t want to continue paying me to lie around at home drinking coffee. Darn.

My official end date is 12th January, so they’ll pay me a few weeks’ notice. That’ll be useful for the end of the month and the rent! This will be the second job I’ve lost in the last couple of years because of my back, but at least this time I was expecting it.

I’m currently working on mashing my head into an appropriate mindset to write more stuff online. I used to write for an online magazine, as well as edit stuff for them, but it’s been quite a while and I’m finding it difficult to get my brain back into the right gear. The words just don’t seem to come out right. It’ll take a little time, I guess.

Right now, though, I’m going to go downstairs, smoke a cigarette and watch a bit of Brainstorm (the Christopher Walken film) before going to bed. My other half’s already asleep, but I need to wake her to give her her meds in a little while. A bit of relaxation beforehand, methinks!
