Caffeinated Lethargy

We’re both in a state of sleep deprivation today, induced by our cat being sick and not helped (in any practical sense) by drinking too much coffee. The former has meant that neither of us has had much sleep this week - although I managed ten hours last night through pure exhaustion, after five days of virtually no shut-eye - and the latter means we’re both twitchy and living on the edge of our nerves.
The funny thing is the disparate mental and physical states. We’re both going through the same thing, where the brain is awake and the body can’t be bothered, or vice-versa. It’s a really weird feeling. For example, my partner’s currently on the running machine with a completely distant, glazed look in her eyes, whereas I’m typing away frantically and can’t even be bothered to move my hand an extra six inches to pick up a biscuit!
My partner’s managed to do some prep work for an interview she has coming soon - and at the same time has avoided any alcohol today, once again. I managed to produce a new article, somewhat hypocritically on the subject of giving up smoking (he says, lighting another).
Tomorrow’s a busy day for me - I have to see the doctor, drop in and finish up with my old job, go and sort out our housing funding and also get copies of a bunch of stuff for other benefits. I should also deal with various bank letters and stuff, but we’ll see about that. It’s always so depressing.
For now, I’m off to eat and watch a film. Later!
Hi!
Good luck on quit smoking thingy. Not an easy thing to do, if you’re a heavy smoker. Don’t forget to asked your doctor about the right treatment to accomplish that.
See you around friend.
